honkey tonks and hot dates

We left Adamsville feeling refreshed and full on love… and some of the best country cooking this side of the mason dixon. The ride to Nashville was, shall we say… peaceful chaos. We breezed through the winding hills, past Mike’s old stomping ground, gazing at the sea of gold tinged trees… all the while listening to blood curling screams hurling from the back seat. Yes, my sweet angel baby really likes riding in the car… just like I love repeatedly slamming my head in a door.

Why? WHY? Why do you hate riding in the car? And why do I want to strangle people when they say foolish things like “She is so tired, she will surely fall asleep in the car?” I think it is because I know I am about to be in a living hell for the next 3 hours. I still love you doll face… even when your red-hot, snot filled face is streaked with tears.

Sorry, back to pleasant thoughts. Like me downing a bottle of wine on the couch with Mike after we put the goose to bed. Suddenly, all of that craziness seemed like a distant memory.

And I am happy to report that the next several days where filled with some of the hottest dates with my favorite girl.

Tator tots and milk for the sweet and wine and popcorn for the mama, it doesn’t get much better than that!

Stolen smiles and sweet kisses with daddy… I think she loves this man as much as I do!

Summer sidewalk strolls and holding hands.

Silly faces and goofy grins. Where does she learn this stuff?

Pigtails and pacifers… the perfect attire for the perfect date.

Finding belly buttons (ba-boooos) and putting our pink shoes on the table… perfect behavior for the fanciest of restaurants. What can I say, she learns by example?

Broadening our taste palates and our hiney’s at the same time.

And smooches for dessert! We always end our dates with a kiss, and cheesecake.

Quality time. The best medicine for our souls.
XOXO,
MamaT
